Words in colour

21 Oct

We all know that colors can evoke strong feelings but what does this mean in relation to words?  For years we have used colors in advertising to communicate feeling and mood. It’s a tool we have at our disposal, but what colours create the desired emotional effect? Cymbolism is here to help us!

Cymbolism is a new website that attempts to quantify the association between colors and words, making it simple for designers to choose the best colors for the desired emotional effect.

I wonder how the doom and gloom of the economy will affect our mood (more black perhaps?) – we’ve already seen the arrival of credit crunch music. Argh.

The site is a bit clunky at the moment, but it’s new and a pretty neat idea. Enjoy.
