More teasing from Sony prior to their next big colourful TV spot - launching October 5th. Don’t over hype it now…

Awesome picture from Justin

In July I posted about the intriguing Cloverfield teaser mystery from J. J. Abrams - read here. I’ve been following it somewhat and came across this post from Justin which sheds some more light, so it’s only right that I share it here! Justin lives just across the street from a major motion picture studio, and received this note:

“…on Thursday July 12 and Friday, July 13 Paramount Pictures will be filming night scenes for their feature film, “Cloverfield,” on the Hennessy Street set on the Main Lot. The filming will simulate an army firefight – including gunfire (blanks) and explosions (powder flash). Any sound-related effects will be completed before 10:00 p.m.”

So now we now Cloverfield features”an army firefight”. Not much to go on yet. I’ve also discovered here that the mystery is now being called “Wreck” - a seemingly lame title not loved by bloggers alike. But at least it’s caught our attention.

I’m interested to see if this film can actually live up to the hype…

If Elle MacPherson wasn’t enough to catch the attention of passers-by, this innovative interactive idea for ‘Elle MacPherson Intimates’ certainly stops people in their tracks. It uses a nifty bit of technology called Human Locator in the storefront that tracks full body movement in real-time. A brilliant use of technology.

What an exciting way to add meaning to the real-world through smart technology, but most importantly with consumer participation at the heart. I just love it when great digital work goes beyond the browser and into the real-world.

Enough said, watch people interacting with the storefront here…

Everybody knows that Paddington Bear eats Marmalade in his sandwiches, not Marmite. This is just so wrong. What’s next? Winnie the Pooh advertising baked beans not honey?!

But the commentary on the official Paddington Bear website did make me chuckle…

“Paddington is famous for the fact that he always has marmalade in his sandwiches and so it came as rather a surprise when he was asked whether he would like to star in a new series of ads for Marmite.

“But I always have marmalade in my sandwiches!” exclaimed Paddington, when he was first approached by the advertising agency.

“That’s exactly why we think you would be perfect for the campaign,” they explained. “We want people who normally have something different in their sandwiches to try Marmite”.

Paddington, of course, would never give up marmalade but he’s always keen to test something new…”

Walking round the office today I keep hearing Phil Collins playing, and it’s all because of this beautifully bizarre ad from Cadbury. There’s nothing too clever about it, it’s just an “effort to make you smile in the same way Cadbury Dairy Milk does”. And it certainly does the trick! Not only that, everyone is talking about it, online and offline, so they’re definitely doing something right.
Can’t wait to see what else they have up their sleeves…
