Following the first great ad, the funny spoof, the second terrible ad (in my opinion), and the less funny but okay second spoof, the hype for the next Bravia ad has already began! Lots of posts already out there in the blogosphere, so of course I’m jumping on the hype wagon. Nice pics here…

These are just some of the images you can find at bravia-advert.com. We don’t know a lot, but some intriguing things we do know are…

  • 2.5 tones of plasticine on set
  • 40 animators
  • 3 weeks
  • 189 2 ft bunnies
  • 150 1 ft cubes
  • 10ft x20 ft purple wave
  • 30ft giant rabbit
  • 6 cameras
  • 40 animators working through 4 hours generated 4 seconds of footage
  • 40 animators working on the same scene had never been attempted before
  • The 60 second spot will be constructed of approximately 100,000 stills

Interesting huh?! If I’m honest, I’m actually quite excited about seeing the next ad. But probably more so the spoof that will undoubtedly follow…

Blog Action Day!

August 29, 2007

action_468x60.jpg

On October 15th, bloggers around the web will unite to put a single important issue on everyone’s mind - the environment. Every blogger will post about the environment in their own way and relating to their own topic. Our aim is to get everyone talking towards a better future.

I have already written several green posts myself, so I’m more than happy to get involved and do my bit for Blog Action day (October 15th). It’s a subject that is really starting to hit home with me. And I’d like to think we can all help make a difference. I’m not sure one day is enough, but if it gets people talking and word-of-mouth spreads, then it’s definitely a good thing. Much better than another celeb packed concert which just helps to ruin the environment!

Go on. Bloggers unite. Get involved!

Ugly Betty goes undercover

August 28, 2007

Interesting outdoor idea for launching Ugly Betty in France. Poor Betty is so ugly, they had to cover her up with a paper bag…

Fear the gay chicken, go on! Something to cheer you up on these rainy days. Nuff said.

I’m not usually one to just post ads on my blog, especially ones from the agency I work at (is that weird?). But this ones for a good cause so I’m doing my bit, and it’s really beautiful. Choice FM is working to raise awareness of gun crime in the UK with this beautiful and overwhelming 60″ film.

Nice huh?!

There’s been more and more talk recently (including myself!) about the blurring of the digital space with the physical real-world around us. I find this topic very exciting! My original post here.

mobile-phone-digital-art.jpg

I came across this great example today - where scientists have found a way to put digital art on city monuments in Edinburgh, which is revealed when a picture is taken on your mobile phone. Cool huh.

This technology works by people taking a snaps of a location with their mobile phone, then using MMS to send the picture to Spellbinder. Powerful image-matching algorithms are used to analyse the image that can deal with pictures of the same place being taken under different light conditions or from different angles. Once Spellbinder has worked out the location of an image it sends back an image with the extra ‘hidden art’ added to it.

This is an interesting way of adding value and meaning to the real-world through smart digital technology, with consumer participation at the heart. It also demonstrates the blurring of digital and real-world locations through mobile technology. See, mobile can be used for more exciting stuff than just ‘text to lose’ campaigns.

As more brands face up to this bigger integration, I think we’re going to see some really exciting, and potentially useful stuff, (along with some horrible intrusive stuff too I imagine!).

Inflatable Fashion

August 8, 2007

 inflatable-fashion-3.jpg

Given my recent tumbles and falls, I could really do with getting some inflatable fashion. I may look stupid wearing it, but at least it could save me a few injuries! Found here.

“The dress is made up of 7 trash bags, 2 foot-pumps and a pair of slippers. The shoes pump air into an inflatable bubble attached to its rear part on each step, slowly turning the garment into a chair.”

Now who said fashion can’t be practical…

I firstly just need to excuse myself for my sparser blogging recently. I did my neck in annoyingly by doing nothing which was quite awkward. Then I hurt my wrist quite badly at a roller disco, yes drunk, and I have learned my lesson! At this point I joined the “group for the accident prone” on Facebook. Shortly after, I went to a BBQ and slipped on a wet floor (sober this time) and managed to fracture my elbow. Rubbish.

Sorry that’s the end of my rant, and hopefully my injuries, as bad things supposedly come in threes. And poor Will has had a worse ordeal of his own so my sympathies go to him.

To cheer myself up I went to the Innocent Fete on Sunday, and had a chilled out day in the sun…yes the sun! Lots of loverly organic food, green stuff, crazy games, funky music, and smoothies of course!

My favourite stall I came across was for stuffyourdoodles, check out their website here. It does what it says on the tin. Kids draw funny doodles with their amazing imaginations, send it to stuffyourdoodles, and they hand make your personal design into a stuffed figure. They even use recycled fabrics so it’s green as well as cool. Simple but cool idea.
